Steri strips c section incision. When a surgical incision starts to open a problem called dehiscence you need to closely monitor your incision for worsening of the condition. If strips steri strips were used to close your incision. It is ok to shower and pat your incision dry with a clean towel.
If one of your sutures has come loose or the glue strips holding your incision have fallen off this is not typically concerning. They should fall off in about a week. It is healing nicely with the normal amount of discharge.
Do not pull tug or rub steri strips. If they are still there after 10 days you can remove them unless your provider tells you not to. This can cause your wound to open.
You may wash or shower with steri strips in place. Dissolvable stitches often are held in place by strips of tape steri strips. They should fall off in about a week.
Surgical wound dehiscence. Steri strips often called butterfly closures or butterfly stitches are commonly used in a range of surgeries and they are a comfortable easy way to keep your incision together. There is no surrounding cellulitis underlying fluid collections or other evidence of infection.
If strips steri strips were used to close your incision. For example absorbable sutures may be placed to close most of an incision and then steri strips used to hold the superficial layer of skin in place. Your healthcare provider may recommend that you add steristrips down the ends of the pieces you placed across the wound.
