Section Break
Word offers four types of section breaks.
Section break. This will insert the break where your cursor is placed in the document. Click on page layout and click on the down arrow next to breaks. Click the special button and select section break from the popup menu.
Next page section break starts the new section on the following page. You can usually show non printing characters on the document and delete the break immediately. Delete a section break.
You can also select page breaks and other types of section breaks by using the third tab on the ribbon menu bar called page layout. Continuous section break. Even page starts the new section on the next even numbered page.
Section breaks provide a method for separating styles in a word 2010 or 2013 document. Click find next to find the first occurrence of a section break in your document. Continuous starts the new section on the same page at the current position.
In the page layout page setup section click breaks. They allow you to change formatting aspects that would otherwise be the same throughout a document such as page orientation margins columns headers and footers. Column changes 2 3 or more columns need section breaks before and after.
When a section break is found it s automatically selected. Go to home and select show all nonprinting characters. If you added section breaks to your document the easiest way to see where they begin and end is to show formatting marks.
