Section Break Microsoft Word
Double click the header or footer on the first page of the new section.

Click link to previous to turn it off and unlink the header or footer from the previous section. To insert a section break position the cursor and click the page layout tab. Click layout breaks and then click the type of section break you want.
Section breaks are probably one of the most useful features in word when you are formatting complicated documents. This type of section break is often used to change the number of columns without starting a new page. Similarly a section break in microsoft word lets you use a two column format in the index section and a single column everywhere else.
Select layout breaks next page. Continuous section break starts the new section on the same page. Odd page section break starts a new section on the next odd numbered page.
