I firmly believe that it s one of the best furniture bargains out there for the quality. Once we moved into our new home i figured it was a good time to change out our sectional and i was looking at the ikea ektorp sectional.

It was also dark brown which at the time i loved however i was starting to want something lighter. It was cozy and huge. It really is nice for sitting in a conversational manner and the ektorp has a fantastic reputation for holding up for many years.

There are a lot more choices of slipcovered sofas than when we bought ours over three years ago. Dean and i talked about having big kids teenagers no more puke or sippee cup spills and being well into our adulthood no more random mismatched furniture. I find it goes really nicely with some of the other classic ikea designs like the hemnes line and the liatorp.

When we first got married we purchased a really nice feather stuffed sectional. I think there might even be an arm chair version in the ektorp line. It also comes in a sectional a chaise version and there is a matching ottoman as well.

Having the ability to remove the cover and wash it is great especially when you have kids and pets and mom and dads who drink coffee and eat dessert on the sofa. We love our ikea ektorp sectional with the nordvalla dark beige slipcover. Even if you don t have kids or pets being able to basically wash your sofa whenever the spirit moves you is still pretty awesome.
