Each side of the heart is divided into two parts producing 4 chambers.

Four sections of the heart. The atria are the receiving stations of the heart. These all work together to make up the vital function of your heart. Located in the middle of the chest and just to the left of your breastbone the heart is one giant muscle composed of just a few basic parts.

The heart not only has four chambers but also has four valves. The heart valves keep blood flowing in one direction through the heart. The upper chambers are called the atriums and the lower chambers are the ventricle.

The four chambers of the heart are attached to major veins or arteries that either bring blood into or carry blood away from the heart. The right atrium receives its supply of oxygen poor blood from the two largest veins in the body the superior and inferior vena cava. The parts of the human heart can be broken down into four chambers muscular walls vessels and a conductive system.

The heart has four chambers. What are the functions of the parts of the heart. The right atrium receives blood from the veins and pumps it to the right ventricle.

To keep this continually flowing process moving in the right direction the heart contains four valves to prevent the backflow of blood. Each chamber has its own valve that allows blood to flow into and out of the chamber. The atria work are thin walled chambers and act as primer pumps for the ventricles which pump blood to the lungs and body.

The right ventricle receives blood from the right atrium and pumps it to the lungs. Everybody knows that the human heart is the essential organ in our bodies. The four sections of the human heart are the left atrium right atrium left ventricle and right ventricle.
